The aluminium watchmaker's loupe is the premium evolution of the classic watch loupe. Its machined aluminium body offers strength, relative lightness and a high-end feel, while keeping the same ergonomics as a traditional eye loupe. Available in several magnifications, it supports passionate watchmakers in every precision operation.

About the watchmaker loupe

This watch loupe is entirely made of anodised aluminium, more durable than plastic and more thermally stable. It is held like a classic loupe between the brow arch and the cheekbone and offers a quality single monocular lens. It is suitable for left or right eye alike. This watch repair accessory can also be fitted to a steel watchmaker loupe holder to leave both hands free.

When to use this aluminium loupe?

The aluminium loupe is used for routine checks (reading a reference, checking a gasket, inspecting a battery) as well as deeper operations (movement disassembly, balance wheel check). Low magnifications (x2.5 / x2.8 / x3.5) are perfect for prolonged use without fatigue, while high magnifications (x6.7 / x10) are reserved for very fine controls.

How to use

Place the loupe in the hollow of the brow arch, contract the eyelid slightly to hold it, then bring the piece to be observed to the focal distance of the lens. For prolonged comfort, mount the loupe on a steel loupe holder or on a headband. Clean the lens with a soft microfibre cloth to preserve its optical clarity.

Quality and durability

Aluminium does not warp over time and resists small workbench bumps. If you would like to explore other models, discover all our products in the category Watchmaker loupe at low price.

Frequently asked questions

Which magnification for mechanical calibres?
To inspect a balance wheel or a pallet fork, x6.7 or x10 is ideal; for general work on a movement, x3.5 or x4 remains the best compromise.

Can aluminium scratch the watch?
No, the loupe does not touch the watch, it sits against the eye only; there is therefore no risk of scratching.

Can the lens be changed?
No, the lens is not removable; simply choose the right magnification at purchase.
